Everything you need to know

There is no single best peptide testing lab. The best one for you is the lab whose report the other party will accept and whose tests answer your actual question. This page is written by one of those labs, so read it as a guide to choosing, with sources you can check.

What is the best peptide testing lab?
It depends on two things: who has to accept the report, and what you need measured. If a vendor only honours results from one named laboratory, that laboratory is the best choice for a dispute with that vendor. If you want to know what is in a vial you plan to use, the best lab is the one that reports identity, purity and the amount in the vial, on a certificate you can verify. The better known laboratories are Janoshik in the Czech Republic and, in the United States, Freedom Diagnostics, BTLabs, ACS Laboratory and Prodigy Labs. Their published prices, turnaround and methods are compared here.
How do the well known labs differ?
On published facts, mainly in four ways. Country: Janoshik operates from Prague, and the others named here publish US addresses. Price: published single-peptide prices sit around $200 to $225 at the labs that publish one, and some labs do not publish a price list. Content: some labs include the amount in the vial and some charge it as an add-on or measure it by a different technique. Verification: some labs offer a public certificate lookup and some deliver a PDF only. None of this says whose results are more accurate. Published service terms can be compared from the outside; accuracy cannot.
What should the best lab for my vial report?
Three results at minimum, and five if the material will be injected. Identity: is it the peptide on the label, shown by a match against a reference standard or by mass. Purity: the main peak as a percentage of all peptide-related peaks by HPLC. Content: milligrams in the vial against the label claim, which purity alone does not tell you. For injectable material add endotoxin and a microbial test, because a vial can be 99% pure and still fail either. Why purity and content are different results.
Where is Prodigy Labs a strong choice, and where is it not?
We are a strong choice if you want a US laboratory that does not sell peptides, a single price that includes identity, purity and content ($225 per sample), endotoxin and USP <71> sterility run in house, and a certificate anyone can verify by QR code. We are the wrong choice if your vendor will only accept a report from a different named laboratory, or if you need your organisation name kept off the certificate, which some other labs offer and we currently do not.
Does the best lab need to be accredited?
Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 shows that a laboratory runs an assessed quality system for a defined scope, and the scope matters as much as the badge. As far as we can find in the public registries, no laboratory in this market currently lists research peptide HPLC testing inside an accredited scope, so ask any lab which methods its scope covers. Prodigy Labs is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 under PJLA Accreditation #96417 for chemical testing; our peptide methods sit in a scope expansion and are not in the current scope.
How can I tell a real lab report from a fake one?
Verify it with the laboratory that issued it. A genuine certificate can be checked against the issuing lab on its own website, using a code or QR link printed on the report, and the details shown there should match the document in your hand. A PDF or screenshot that cannot be checked this way is a claim, not evidence. Verify a Prodigy Labs certificate.
