Cannabinoid Testing Requirements for CBD Oil

Full spectrum CBD oil must demonstrate THC compliance for federal hemp regulations while supporting label claims for CBD and minor cannabinoid content.

⚖️

THC Compliance

Federal hemp compliance requires total THC ≤0.3% dry weight. Full spectrum oil requires verified THC data for every lot.

🏷️

Label Substantiation

CBD content claims require third-party HPLC verification. Our COA documents actual vs. labeled potency.

🌿

Minor Cannabinoids

Full spectrum products differentiate on CBG, CBN, CBC, and CBDV content. Our 12-analyte panel quantifies all relevant minor cannabinoids.

🌸

Optional Terpene Profile

Terpene profiling by GC-MS is available as an add-on for products making terpene-specific claims.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between broad spectrum and full spectrum for testing purposes?

Full spectrum oil contains all cannabinoids including THC (≤0.3%). Broad spectrum has THC removed. Both require HPLC potency testing, but full spectrum also requires THC compliance verification.

Do you test for delta-8 THC specifically?

Yes. Our panel distinguishes Δ8-THC from Δ9-THC. This is important because Δ8-THC is treated differently across state regulations.

How often should I test each lot?

We recommend testing every lot. Cannabinoid content varies between batches due to extraction variability. Annual brand testing is insufficient for consumer safety and regulatory compliance.
